As is in expectation, in the battle there are soldiers who get wounded. There are various reasons that may make a soldier get wounded, either their carelessness or not being watchful, or even not having received the stature to fight in that battle. But for whichever reason, a wounded soldier is still a soldier. The only thing is that a wounded soldier cannot fight.

The principle of the soldiers in battle is that they are not supposed to forsake the wounded soldier. They will use every means to make sure that the enemy does not get the wounded soldier and kill him. Why? Because the wounded soldier can still recover and go back to the battle and do exploits.

In the Army of the Lord, there has been a kind of confusion brought about by the evil one; the accuser of the brethren. Once there is a wounded soldier, more so if the soldier is a great general, what the soldiers do is join the world in condemnation rather than take part in the restoration. The enemy throughout the world will always look for ways to accuse the soldiers of the Lord and will do this by injuring a soldier. He then stirs up the other soldiers to fight one of their own with an excuse that the wounded soldier was not careful in the battle.

We should at this point as the Soldiers of the Lord stand firm and fight the deception not fight the wounded soldier. It is painful to see the world fight a wounded soldier of Christ and fellow soldiers join the world to fight one of their own.

Allow me to use this good example, sometimes back we heard of the famous Nigerian singer Osinachi; who died because of domestic violence, May her soul rest in eternal peace. The fact because she was a soldier in the body of Christ, the devil throughout the world started pointing at the church. Saying that the church is misleading people which in real sense was not the reality. Videos were made by the world and circulated condemning the church. It is true there was a wounded soldier, but what was our reaction as the church? Do you take part in circulating such kind of videos and condemning the church?

The fact that it is not your denomination, doesn’t mean it is not part of the body of Christ. As a good soldier you ought to help the wounded soldier but not take part in condemnation. Jesus said that that a kingdom divided against itself cannot stand. Mathew 12:25. And this is the strategy the devil is using to bring down the body of Christ.

And by taking part in shielding a wounded soldier does not mean that we now condone carelessness and sin in the battle. A soldier may be wounded by mistake. But if the soldier starts rebellion and continues in rebellion against the master who is Christ, then he no longer belongs to the army of the Lord.

You become a soldier of a kingdom by obeying the commands and the rules of the kingdom you are fighting for. Therefore if today a person claims to be a soldier in the Kenyan Army, yet he is fighting for the Alshabab, will we still term him a soldier in the Kenyan Army? Though he puts on the attire of the Kenyan Army, he is not a soldier in the Kenyan Army. Though at one point he was a part of the Kenyan Army, he is now no longer part of it.  So it should be noted that I do not become a soldier of Christ because I have opened a church for self-gain. There are many people who have camouflaged to be soldiers of Christ yet they are not. And they too are being by the devil to paint a bad picture of the Army of the Lord. Jesus said and you will know by their fruits Mathew 7:16 & 20

Church let’s also not be moved by such kinds of hypocrites to fight the real, true, royal, and faithful soldiers of the Lord. As a church, we are the bride of Christ not just soldiers and our bridegroom loves us so much that he is ready to do anything to protect his bride. As you fight this battle, don’t let the evil one divide you.

And to all the wounded soldiers do not let the enemy make you think you can’t recover. You can recover and be a greater general who has learned by experience. But before you go back to the battle, be humble and sit under the protection of the other soldiers qualified as doctors so that you may recover first. If you reject the fact that you are wounded and that you need help, the enemy will kill you. Note that YOU DO NOT CEASE TO BECOME A SOLDIER BECAUSE  YOU ARE WOUNDED, YOU CEASE TO BECOME A SOLDIER IF YOU DELIBERATELY REBEL.

And to the church and fellow soldiers of Christ, it is not every battle initiated against A man of God or a soldier by the world you fight against the soldier. Know that the aim of the enemy is to scatter the army of the Lord and so you need to be as wise as serpents. The world may be justified to accuse the church but you in church, remember once you fight against a genuine soldier of the Lord, you are fighting against your own kingdom.  

And finally to those who have not joined the army of the Lord, know that life generally has got battles to fight. And the winning side is that of Christ. What do you have to do? Believe in Christ repent of your sins and the Lord will forgive you. Be counted on the side of Christ. Know that there are only two sides, you are either for Christ or against Christ.
