ISAIAH 54:1 “ Sing, o barren woman, you who never bore a child; burst into a song, shout for joy, you who were never in labour; because more are the children of the desolate woman than of her who has a husband,” says the Lord. (NIV). After we have let it go and obey the spiritual surgery, we need to burst into a song and give God praise.

Praise affects every aspect of our Christian life. It affects our DNA. How? Look at the barren woman, she is told to burst into a song of joy. Praise makes her know how she is blessed with many children.

Praise is an important aspect in spiritual matters. It depends on who you give praise to or what you give praise to. You give God praise; you enter His gates and courts that is His presence. David in his psalms to God always gave command to his soul to praise the Lord for His majesty and holiness. The Lord said David is a man after my own heart. This is because David understood the power behind praises. Even in His weaknesses and wrongs and sin, he still gave God praise through sincere acknowledgement that he was sinful.

EPHESIANS 5:19, “Speak to one another in Psalms, Hymns and Spiritual songs. Sing and make music in your heart to the Lord.” Paul understood the power of praise. He is says, speak to one another in Psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs. He puts emphasis that the songs we should speak to one another are spiritual songs. He understood that, there are songs which are not spiritual and how such can affect our DNA. He instructs us to make music in our hearts to God, He deserves praise and praises given to God affects our DNA positively.

The Israelites understood how powerful praise is when their captures asked them to sing them a song in Babylon. They refused; they couldn’t sing the song of the Lord in captivity, in foreign land. God is serious with His music. You don’t sing it anyhow you feel. You need to be at home. His Presence-Psalm 137:4.

What do you sing? Is it the song of the Lord? Do you listen to songs like “Naomba unironge”? Do you confess such? Trust me; you will surely get bewitched by the forces behind the song. It will affect your DNA and someday you will cry because of what is happening to your life. Watch out for your music and who you give praise. Do you listen to “shetani nitakusema kwa baba?” do you confess that? Is it the song of the Lord? No it does not give God any praise. Music can make you have a monster’s character. It can make God’s righteousness shine forth in your life. Music defines your character. Remember it affects your DNA.
